VW Festival is held annually at Harewood House near Leeds, and 2012 will be the 8th VW Festival since its launch in 2005. Last year saw over 16000 visitors across the weekend, and we have therefore decided to add an extra day this year and make it a two night event spanning from Friday 17th August until Sunday 19th August 2012. Full details can be found on our website There is a whole host of activities across the weekend from themed disco, club stands, trade stands, and show and shine. This is in addition to all the activities already available on site at Harewood House such as the Bird Garden and Grounds, Stately Home, Adventure Playgrounds and much, much more.

My bus failed the MOT in spectacular style today with a king pin and three wheel bearings shot. Well that and the usual brake and headlight alignment issues.

Does anybody know anyone who can recondition spindles? Fit bearings?

1970 Westfalia Campmobile, 1600cc, Red, MOT & Tax (exempt) March 2013. Imported from the US Feb 2012. Very solid with RnR bed, pull out bunk and childs hammock, wardrobe, buddy seat, sink and coolbox unit. Interior was stripped out, cleaned and rebuilt with a new floor, interior panels and headlining. All window rubbers and seals replaced and metal work checked while out, all good. Engine sound, Empi 5 alloys fitted with 2 x new front tires, rears very good. Currently untouched by English rain. Will be at Van Jamboree in Lincoln next weekend (could be driven away if paid for), can be seen at St Ives, Cambridgeshire, PE27.

Louvered Westfalia window refurb kits for both sides, side window seal, side 3/4 fixed window seal, side 1/4 opening window seal, side 1/4 window frame, rear screen seal, sliding door seal, rear hatch seal, engine lid seal.
Front brake cylinders (all), front brake shoes, rear brake cylinder (both), rear brake shoes, tie rod adjustable, tie rod non-adjustable, steering damper, front suspension ball joints x 4, shock bush x 8, brake fluid reservoir, brake reservoir seal.
RHD Headlights, front indicator rubber, rear lamp lens – UK spec amber, rear light trim, tail light seal, LED rear indicator lights, US rear side marker and bulb holder.
Inertial real seat belts x 2, headlight switch centre, wiper blades, windscreen washer nozzles, 6 piece cab mat set, window winder handle x 1, cupboard door handle x 1, number plate seal, sliding door lock gasket, side cover beading x 2.
Floor repair panel – drivers side, inner step repair x2, new laminate floor in cabin.

Jobs in need of completing:
Replace or recover front seats, left as personal preference for new owner
Replace pop-top canvas – supplied, may get done before sale
Engine lid hinge seal - supplied, may get done before sale
Engine tin to body rubber - supplied, may get done before sale
Spare wheel bracket/carrier supplied, left as an option for new owner
Replace tap, on order
Sliding door “dog bone” interior handle, on order

Steeple Bumpstead classic car show

The beautiful village of Steeple Bumpstead (just south of Haverhill) is holding a vintage car show on the 4th June.

I am afraid that is all the details I have at the moment but will know more this week, a friend of mine who lives there text me about it last night and is going to get more details for me, be really nice if the SPlitterz could get a few cars together
