VW Festival 17-19 August 2012. Leeds.

VW Festival is held annually at Harewood House near Leeds, and 2012 will be the 8th VW Festival since its launch in 2005. Last year saw over 16000 visitors across the weekend, and we have therefore decided to add an extra day this year and make it a two night event spanning from Friday 17th August until Sunday 19th August 2012. Full details can be found on our website There is a whole host of activities across the weekend from themed disco, club stands, trade stands, and show and shine. This is in addition to all the activities already available on site at Harewood House such as the Bird Garden and Grounds, Stately Home, Adventure Playgrounds and much, much more.

Academic as Matt is gonna look at it but I would guess.....

You want to do a full service, check valves, timing before doing carbs
Regards the butterfly values - I guess you want both butterflies open the same amount - is this to do with the throttle stop?
Leaky pistons, would that show up on those readings? Isnt the only way to know by doing a compression test?

Have a chat with Paul Fisher, St Ives Engineering, 01480 462111. Not sure if he can recon spindles but he should be OK for the bearings.

Didn't see that Techno, but I did see an inspirational new project car, the likes of which I'm sure will be next cover car on all the mags.

My bus failed the MOT in spectacular style today with a king pin and three wheel bearings shot. Well that and the usual brake and headlight alignment issues.

Does anybody know anyone who can recondition spindles? Fit bearings?
