Topic: Need to go low...

Hi guys.. trying to decide how low and what route to go with my mk3 5door golf.
I know it's not as cool or old as a van or beetle. It any of you guys got any suggestions they would be much appreciated ☺️

You need to talk to Murph.  He had a Mk3 Golf that was pretty low.  Ask him about speed bumps...

Cheers will msg him... yeah speed bumps are the bane of any low car.. my old 190 merc was dragging on the ground back in the day lol took the drive shaft heat shield off once bottoming out ha ha

The mk3 golf I had, I had roughly 5 cm from sill to floor it did scrap a lot.... My advice would be to go coilovers rather than lowering with springs.

You can get a set of JOM coilover off ebays for £180 .... the ride is ok (They are budget so you do get what you pay for. (Buy new top mounts then you can just remove the whole struts from the original suspension and I don't think you need spring compressors if you do it that way. Easy enough Job to do at home.

Coilovers will also give you the option to raise or lower the ride height so gives you the chance to make your own decision on the ride height. Rather than spring which is a set drop. Think my old golf is on the photos page ill try find the link.


Also nothing wrong with a mk3 default/wink
