Finally done a deal on my next project, story goes it has been sat 100 yrds from route 66 for the last 19 years.
Its on the boat to the UK and due here end of feb, a few interesting mods, nice vent in the roof, and a big hole cut out of the rear luggage area ( above the engine). Its a 68/9 non walk thru deluxe, not sure of the exact year till i decode the chassis no and m codes. Pretty rust free apart from the front screen rust thru
Got some repro Z hinges , so stock interior is staying
Ive got a few ideas, but will have to wait and see for now

hmm don't look too bad on the outside, scary looking bit at the bottom of the B pillar (or is that B-filler) and the usual need of the upper part of the front panel replacing but not bad for a prototype

On closer inspection it appears to not be filler its just had a knock by the looks.... I can't be much more precise than "the bottom of the B pillar" really

Had a trip over to T2D today to check out my bus, its really straight, interior will be going in due course, air vent in the roof is going, and the hole in the engine bay roof fixed too. Its going to be slammed on a KnL beam, disc brakes, drop spindles and notched chassis
Im aiming to get the interior in and the final touches done before Big Bang if im lucky

due to family stuff im gonna be staying stock height on this one for now
it arrived back at mine today, iv made a start on the interior already, stripped out the floormat and started sweeping the dust and rust out
needs a full mechanical overhaul and some welding here and there, its bloody straight, and its gonna shine after some elbow grease

Cool beans
Bit of boot polish on the dash, set of mats and a groovy blanket throw type thing from a hippy shop to go over those seats and the cabin is liveable, ![]()
I might rock up at yours sometime if I have occasion to be in Treebrain again soon.
... although to be honest I don't think polishing it should even be on the todo list yet gary, its your treat to yourself save it as a reward for personal achievement later in the scheme of things. Its always a good motivator to have something like that to look forward to ![]()

had my helper out this evening before dinner, bumper off and a bit of a tap at the rust/crusty bits
outer lower front panel

microbus seat mounts, about 6 holes rusted thru, on a plus doglegs and battery tray are mint, the underneath looks well undercoated too
Offline
that's not rust, its character ![]()

OMG!! I can't believe you are doing this all over again ![]()

Bit of an update
Roof vent removed and hole welded up with some OG tin, needs some finishing, and roof will be repainted

T25 hatch made smaller and fitted along with the surround

Engine is f*cked, so recon 1600 will go in. All the tinware getting painted black, and engine bay looks like it will clean up nice
Front screen looks pretty good after all, so a bit of a repair to a few holes.
