Jail bars black? or leave as is?
They're only on there to cover up the holes in the inside of the tailgate, I'm no big fan of jail bars really and I'm no fan of shiny metal (apart from on wheel rims).
They do seem to stand out a bit much being all blingy, black they'd disappear completely.
Thoughts please learned bretheren

I thought the point of shiny was so that it stood out. If painting them black makes them dissapear, then take them off use a few black screws to fill the holes until you get to fill them permenantly.

the reality is I've got a million more things to do as a higher priority than taking the rear door off filling and grinding back the holes and repainting it and those 11 screws will always look exactly like someone hiding jailbar holes, I only put them on to deal with an internal ugliness. They were also only £20 posted
Shiny however, while making the inside look better does look an abomination from the outside on that van!
Now if I paint them they will disappear externally but actually probably show up more internally..... ?
... and Gary thank you for your help today
I now have a can in the van ![]()

Black.
Everything else on Mfanwy that would be bare metal is black pretty much, so it would keep the theme going.
Does it matter if they're more visible from the inside apart form potential paranoia inducing moments when you wake up and the possibility of unfortunate incidents with handcuffs ![]()

indicents with handcuffs aren't unfortunate ![]()
I did have a rule... no bare metal on the outside but was going to reference the cream roof and wheel details inside the van (eventually)
my probem is its inside so it can be bare metal, although you can see it from the outside.... think one of next weekend's jobs is paint them black TBH

You could paint them the same colour as the outside then it's seen from the outside and inside but carries the theme both ways.
My personal favorite idea would be to wrap them in material like fake tiger skin or something, just to make people looking from the outside wonder what the inside is doing ![]()
