DollyIn brief: After attending Run To The Sun for the last 7 years and dreaming about owning a camper, I finally took the plundge and bought one from Ebay in early July 2005, My first aircooled VW. My knowledge of VW's is Very, very limited but I'm learning as I go along. I joined Splitterz in August 2005 after posting a distress call thread on VZi asking what club I should join! After getting numerous "JOIN SPLITTERZ" replies I decided this was the club for me and haven't looked back since. If I knew what a laugh owning a aircooled VW was gonna be I'd have done it years ago.

Model

1973 Late Bay Kombi called Dolly.

Engine

Volkspares aircooled 1600 twinport.

Interior

Origanally a devon conversion but it was tatty and some parts rotten, I pulled the old interior out and replaced it with a camping kit made by bus furniture that I fitted and stained myself! My mum covered the cushions and made the curtains, but there are still a few bits to do so watch this space!

The Engine

Exterior

When I bought Dolly she looked like a spearmint on wheels with black patches here and there so I just sprayed over it in grey primer, therefore when I get all the nessary panels welded on I can just spray over them and keep it one colour till I can afford the respray... again work in progress so watch this space!
