In brief: I'm Gabi, and I've always loved VW's. When I was younger I always dreamt of owning my own beetle, but it was my boyfriend Ratty who really got me into it a couple of years ago.
He opened my eyes to the whole VW scene and I haven't looked back! In the last 2 years I have made some great friends and had some of the best times, Splitterz changed my life! (Now everything is much more VW shapped!)
History: In March this year (2006) I finally found the perfect bug for me, a 1969 pink bug called Doris, and it was love at first site! When i bought her, the pervious owners had started to restore her but were unable to finish. SO for the last 8 months all my spare pennies have been spent on pink things or shinny things!! (as I'm slightly obsessed with both). I am currently saving up for a new interior and I have a new 1641cc engine waiting to go in, then the transformation will be complete!

At the moment she's still got the stock seats and door cards, but I'm hoping to have them recovered in white vinyl with pink detailing. She's got a lovely new Newton Commercial carpet in oatmeal and I'll soon be buying some shiny dash accessories for her, I'm also looking out for a new steering wheel, which would be much easier if I knew what I was looking for..
Exterior
She started life red but has recently been re-sprayed in my favourite colour, PINK!!. She also has funky Porsche teledial wheels, which we sprayed with a pearlescent top coat so they shimmy pinkin the right light! (Oh and yes, shimmy is the technical term!)
