Chloe - Forum ID: ChloeBo. Location: Leigh.

In brief: I'm Chloe and I've always loved Beetles, my first memory being a purple Beetle with flourescent pink detailing that used to park at the top of my road during the school run. I later found out that my mum loved Beetles too and like me had one as her first car so I knew that it was meant to be.

History: Charlie is my first car. I learned to drive in her in 2000 and have kept her going ever since, I can't part with her now! We bought her of a guy that lived in Southend with his mum and because his mother was the main driver and she couldn't see very well (even with the flourescent tube he added for her!!!!) he had to sell her.

Charlie's Spec

Model

1974 Type 1.

Engine

1641cc with twin Kadron carbs.

Interior

The inside's not too bad apart from the drivers seat which is a bit tatty, it's still got the black basketweave vinyl which I'm happy with...until I can afford a Bernard Newbury anway. The parcel shelf is original 1970's although I was given that for as long as I keep the car anyway. I've added a tunnel tray and a front parcel shelf because I'm a girl so need lots of room for my junk!

Exterior

YELLOW! Not the right yellow at the moment, but I should be getting my respray to match the inside very soon, I'll keep you updated! I've got EMPI Sprintstar wheels, with EMPI GTI caps (well, 3 anyway). Chrome running boards and various other bits of chrome because I do love a bit of shiny! I've also got flame decals on my headlights which are very pretty too.

For the Future

As I mentioned, I'm getting a respray soon in a brighter yellow. At somepoint after the respray I want royal blue flames at the front not quite reaching the door and not on the bonnet, very Essex I know but it has to be done! I'm having wide fiberglass rear wings fitted and adding more chrome bits too. Eventually I want a Bernard Newbury Interior and to get her lowered but that's going to have to wait for a little while at least.
