In brief: My first car was a GP Beach Buggy, followed by a host of bugs in various guises and states of disrepair. At Uni I bought Volksworld and petrol before food and between the house we had about 7 VWs. Some of them even ran! All I talked or thought about was VW's. After years of "self restoration" and "keeping it running at the roadside!" read, I finally got a second car.. The car I always built in my day dreams.
US spec 1967 beetle.
2160cc, Scat 84mm crank, Engle FK-8 cam, Scat lifters, Magnum straight cut timing gears, 48 IDAs, MSD 6AL ignition system, Berg 5 speed gear box, ZF Limited-slip differential, Heavy Duty Axles, 2.5 inch narrowed beam, CSP discs and type 3 drums.
The interior was by Bernie.*
Bodywork by The Paintbox.*
*The car is based on several influential Cal Look cars of the late '70s. Hector Bonillas '67 is echoed in the exterior and the interior from one Dean Kirsten used.
